Avast antivirus protection
Avast is a well-known brand in the world of cybersecurity. It is known for outstanding malware detection and web protection as well as many other security features including a boot-time scan and a virtual desktop. The product can also be used with multiple devices and comes with the option of a free VPN.
It is available in three plans – Protection, Privacy and Performance based on the number of devices you require to cover. In addition to PCs, it can be installed on Mac and Android devices.
Avast detected every malware that was found on the systems that we examined. This is an impressive feat, considering that the software detects more than 1.5 billion threats every month.
Another major feature of the program is its speedy boot-time scan, which scours your system for potentially harmful files prior to Windows even loads. It took less than an hour during my tests to complete the scan on a PC running Windows 10.
The Avast product also has several other security tools that are designed to protect your data. Its Sensitive Document Shield can identify sensitive documents like tickets, resumes, and invoices. It did not find any sensitive files on the computer I tested it on, however.
Avast also offers an email Guardian tool, which scans your email account for suspicious attachments and phishing sites. It also has a feature called Bank Mode that provides a virtual desktop that is safe from keystroke recording, screenshot attempts and other malicious applications. Avast’s privacy guidelines are good. The company claims to only collect data necessary for security. Its analytics division Jumpshot sells information only after it has been removed from the database.
